How this estimate is calculated (and its limits)
This is a starting point to brief us, not a quote or an engineering design. A free site assessment confirms the exact system, wiring, mounting and compliance. Estimates use these assumptions:
- 4.5 usable peak sun hours per day (South African average)
- 20% system losses (wiring, temperature, inverter efficiency)
- Lithium battery usable depth of discharge of 90%
- Appliances do not all peak at the same instant (65% simultaneity)
- Bill mode uses an average tariff of about R2.80/kWh
- Prices are EdgeCraft catalog prices; the range adds a typical balance-of-system and installation allowance
